The Steering Committee of Strategic Planning (SCSP) convened at the Cultural Center of the University of Duhok to discuss key policy proposals and align on strategic priorities.

Welcome Speech

Dr. Dawood, Chair of the SCSP, opened the meeting by expressing his enthusiasm about the progress being made toward accreditation. He commended the committee for their active involvement and collaboration in the process.

Policy Proposals by Dr. Shivan

Dr. Shivan presented two policy proposals:

• Renting & Leasing University Space Policy

• Academic Book Publishing Policy

Both proposals were thoroughly reviewed by the committee, and after discussion, they were approved unanimously.

Policy Proposals by Mr. Harikar and Dr. Adel

Mr. Harikar introduced the Information Management and Data Security Policy, which led to an engaging discussion among the committee members. It was agreed that the document required improved terminology and wording for better clarity. Dr. Faek was tasked with assisting in refining the policy.

Dr. Adel presented the Archival Policy of the University of Duhok. After deliberation, the committee decided to merge this policy with the Information Management and Data Security Policy or incorporate it into a broader data classification framework. This decision was made to streamline policy alignment and avoid redundancies.

Conclusion

The meeting concluded with a decision to schedule the next SCSP meeting to review progress and finalize pending actions. This session underscored the committee’s dedication to advancing policy development and ensuring alignment with UoD’s strategic goals.
