Meeting Summary

The Steering Committee of Strategic Planning (SCSP) at the University of Duhok (UOD) held a productive meeting on March 17, 2025, chaired by Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi. The meeting focused on reviewing and approving several policies, including the Leadership Evaluation Policy and alumni-related policies.

Key Discussions and Outcomes:

Policy Progress Status Briefing

1. Mr. Shavger presented a briefing on the current policy progress status, which was discussed and completed.

Leadership Evaluation Policy Approval

2. Dr. Faek presented the Leadership Evaluation Policy for approval, which was successfully approved by the committee.

Alumni Policies Review and Approval

3. UPLO shared five drafted alumni policies with the Steering Committee, which were presented by Dr. Faek. After thorough discussion and clarification, the committee approved four of the five policies:

   • Alumni Engagement Policy

   • Alumni Fundraising and Donations Policy

   • Alumni Volunteer and Mentorship Engagement Policy

   • Alumni Awards and Recognition Policy

4. The UoD Alumni Steering Committee policy was postponed for further clarification and will be reviewed at the upcoming meeting.

Policy Implementation Emphasis

5. Dr. Dawood emphasized the importance of implementing policies, particularly the Quality Assurance Policy. He requested that at least one policy audit be completed and ready for review at the next meeting.

KAAE Policies

6. Dr. Dawood declared the significance of 16 policies for KAAE that need to be finalized and approved by August 2025.

Policy Translation

7. Miss Sheelan was identified as responsible for translating the policies.

The approved policies will be presented to the University Council for final approval. The next meeting is scheduled for April 14, 2025, at 12:00 pm.
