The Steering Committee of Strategic Planning (SCSP) at the University of Duhok (UOD) held a productive workshop on February 16, 2025, chaired by Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi. The workshop focused on several strategic policy developments and proposals aimed at enhancing the university's governance and operational efficiency.

Key Discussions and Outcomes:

Delegation Proposal

1. Dr. Nizar, the head of DOIR, presented a proposal on delegation policies. The committee members actively discussed the proposal and provided valuable feedback. Dr. Nizar will develop the policy with a designated drafting team assigned by Dr. Dawood, the chair of SCSP. The drafting team includes Dr. Nizar Ameen Mohammed, Dr. Shivan Ahmed Mohammad, Dr. Shaheen AbdulKareem, and Mr. Amad Ayad Mohammed from DOIR.

Leadership Evaluation Policy Progress

2. Dr. Faek, the head of IRC, presented the Leadership Evaluation Policy Progress. He clarified the purpose of this policy to SCSP members, providing a comprehensive overview of its content. The policy will be shared with SCSP members for review and comments. Additionally, Dr. Faek has requested the Chair of SCSP to restructure the Quality Assurance Directorate due to the significant need for staff to manage over 100 documents of procedures.

UoD Abbreviations and Acronyms Proposal

3. Mr. Shavger, the Head of UPlo, presented the UoD Abbreviations and Acronyms Proposal on behalf of Dr. Dilan. SCSP members approved the drafted proposal with comments and suggestions to be used as guidelines or merged with other policies. The Chair of SCSP has assigned a drafting team for developing the policy, consisting of Dr. Dilan Rostim, Dr. Faek (Head of IRC), Dr. Jalal Mohammed Salih, and Mr. Ismat Khabor (Head of Media).

The workshop demonstrated the committee's commitment to improving institutional policies and procedures.
